    Cancer Screenings

    Breast Cancer Screening

    • Learn how to do self breast exams at an early age to be able to detect abnormalities or changes in your breast exam.
    • Mammograms should begin at age 50. 
    • Mammograms are the BEST way to identify breast cancer 
    • Early Detection Is Key! 


    Cervical Cancer Screening

    • Did you know, PAP Smear Exams can identify abnormal cells 
    • A Pap Smear exam should be completed on every women starting at the age of 21
    • If 30 years and older, in the setting of a NORMAL Pap Smear, a PAP exam should be completed every 3 years. If obtaining exam for HPV ONLY, exam should be completed every 5 years and co-testing (Pap and HPV together), should be completed every 5 years 
    • Early detection of Cervical Cancer is identified via a Pap Exam 
    • Cervical Cancer can be prevented by receiving the HPV Vaccine

    Colorectal Cancer Screening

    • Colorectal Cancer is often identified via polyps, which shows an abnormal growth 
    • Recommended age for colorectal screening is 45-75 years of age 
    • Ways to screen for Colorectal Cancer includes Colonoscopy, Flex Sigmoidoscopy, and Stool Testing 

    Lung Cancer Screening

    • Do you have a history of smoking, currently smoke, or quit in the last 10-15 years? 
    • You should consider a low dose Computed Tomography (LDCT) for early detection of lung cancer starting at the age of 50
